California Milk

Posted in Relish on June 23, 2010 by Mark Boughton Photography

So last week Relish Magazine sent me on a food tour of a dairy in California that was sponsored by the California Milk Advisory Board. I remember when I was about 9 years old going to a dairy were I lived in Atlanta and thinking to my self that raising cows for milk would be such a great job. Oh the mind of a child never realizing how hard a job that would actually be and all that would go into it. Feeding, watering, and making sure they stay healthy and meeting all the rules and regulations that the government. Milking them is the least of your chores. Here are some excerpts of my tour of the Clauss Family Dairy located in Hilmar, CA. – Cheers!

For the last couple of years I have been planting Fruit trees and bushes around my studio. Well this morning I was out walking around and while checking on them just to see how everything is growing I decided to start documenting my little and I mean little orchard. I have planted Blackberrys, Raspberry’s and a Fig Tree along with a Peach Tree all of which I picked up from our local Famers Market. There is a local Grower call Freedom Tree Farms they are located in Pelham,TN here is a link to there website. http://freedomtreefarms.com/ Here is a sample of what my small bounty will be like this year.  Cheers

Hello All- So here I am revisiting the Fruit Loop out side the town of Hood River, Oregon. The pear trees were in full bloom and so were the photographers. The valley was a blaze.  Enjoy!

Hello All- I am off to the IACP Conference in Portland Oregon. I going to make my way to where I photographed these images last July 09. The Kiss Family Orchard which is located in the Hood River Valley of Oregon. This time around there will be no cherries to pick but with a little luck there might be thousands of Blooms on the Cherry trees. Also in this area are thousands of acres of Pears so it could make for some wonderful images. Cheers until tomorrow.

Welcome to Mark Boughton Photography. Our Freestanding Studio was built in 1984 by my mentor and I purchased it from him in the fall of 2004. We are located in Nashville, TN and just minutes from the downtown and just moments from the airport.

Our studio has a 2000 square foot shooting area with another 1800 square feet of office space. We have a professional kitchen with commercial size refrigerator and freezers along with enough counter space to work.

We also have a large prop room with a wide array of dishes, flatware, table linens and cutting boards along with other food related props.

We also have a comfortable seating area that overlooks the studio where clients can relax or work on the lap tops with wireless internet connection.
